The purpose of Montessori sandpaper numbers is to help children learn and memorize the symbols (0-9) that represent quantities, preparing them for writing numbers through a multi-sensory, tactile experience.

Use this template to make your own Montessori Sandpaper Numbers.
This Do It Yourself project includes:
  • 0 to 10 green number cards
  • number outlines
Two methods of preparation:
  1. Print the green number cards apply glue, and then apply sand to the numbers.
  2. Print number outlines, trace on sandpaper, cut out, and glue onto green cards.
Number cards are approx. 4¾" x 3½".
