Types of Flower Shapes

Montessori education emphasizes a deep connection with the natural world, and flowers are a tangible and beautiful way to introduce children to botany and the environment.

Identify and classify ten flower shapes. Then, verify the classification using the control charts.

This set includes the following flower shapes: campanulate, cruciform, funnelform, bilabiate, papillion, saucer, stellate, trumpet, tubular, and urceolate.

Includes:

  • 10 description cards
  • 2 sets of name cards with images (one set is simplified)
  • 30 flower picture cards
  • 2 control charts

All cards are in a three-part format:

  • cards with labels
  • cards without labels
  • labels

To use three-part cards, match the labels to the corresponding pictures. Verify the matches using the control cards with the labels.

Cards are approx. 3½" x 3¼", control charts are approx. 7½" x 8¾".
