Montessori education emphasizes a deep connection with the natural world, and plants are a tangible and beautiful way to introduce children to botany and the environment.

Identify, sort, and classify photographic images of seven types of plant roots. Then, use the control charts to verify the classification.

This material includes 7 types of plant roots: tap, fibrous, buttress, tuberous, adventitious, prop, and aerial.

Each of the 7 types of roots include:

  • a description card
  • a quiz card and an answer label
  • 1 name card with black/white image
  • 3 photographic images

Also includes:

  • 2 master control charts (1 letter-size, 1 legal-size)

Cards are approx. 3½" x 3¼", control charts are 8½" x 11" and 8½" x 14".
