Canadian Currency Cards

Montessori education focuses on practical life activities, and learning about money is included in that. Children learn to recognize different denominations of money, count, and make change—skills they can directly apply in real-life situations such as classroom stores or pretend restaurants.

This set of cards focuses on helping children recognize Canadian coins and bills. It includes six Canadian coins (penny, nickel, dime, quarter, loonie, toonie) and five Canadian bills (five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars, fifty dollars, and one hundred dollars). As required by law, all images have the word "specimen" on them.

Includes 3-part cards:

  • 11 cards with labels
  • 11 cards without labels
  • 11 labels
  • 1 control chart for the coins
  • 1 control chart for the bills

The control charts show both the front and back of each coin and bill. The word "specimen" is written across all photographs of bills and are not to size (as required by law).

Cards with labels are approx. 3½" x 3¼", cards without labels are approx. 1" shorter.
